Description: Greg and Tim loved depicting the world of the Hobbit, and Bilbo's house in the Shire was no different. The two artists went to painstaking efforts to create the realistic lighting effects you see here in this scene, as this was the first painting the Brothers Hildebrandt did in their Tolkien series! Before this time, Greg and Tim Hildebrandt had spent years working on children's books. They wanted to create an illustrative feeling for viewers when they looked at this scene, allowing the viewer to be able to open their imagination as if they were a kid again and they had all of Middle-earth to explore!
