Description: This painting by the Brothers Hildebrandt is of Lothlorien, the Elven forest where the members of the Fellowship escape after Gandalf confronts the Balrog. Greg and Tim worked carefully to create lighting that was as real as possible, so viewers would feel like they were a part of the scene. Notice how the characters are all in the shadows as if they are emerging from the darkness and sorrow of losing Gandalf, and approaching the light and hope of Lothlorien.
